Human Rights Commission:
  • Writing 20 new policies in response to the ministerial review into the Commission, following Judge Shaw’s review. These policies are best practice, exemplar policies to help improve the culture of the Commission and share with other organisations as templates.
  • The new policies include:
    • Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policies (including prevention of and response to bullying and sexual harassment).
    • People Policies (Flexible Working, Code of Conduct, Leave guidelines, Protected Disclosures, Privacy, Performance reviews).
    • Finance Policies (Sensitive Expenditure, Travel, Conflict of Interest and Risk Management).
    • Communications, Media and Information Management Polices (ICT devices, Information Systems, News Media, Social Media).
  • Developing procedures including checklists, guidelines, a complaints process, flowcharts, Power Points and FAQs.
NZ Police:
  • Writing a plain English Policy and Police and Provider Standards for Te Pae Oranga.
  • Writing guidelines, processes, forms, templates, procedures and checklists.
  • Developing and implementing a Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Plan.
Victoria University of Wellington:
  • Reviewing, editing and rewriting the BRANZ report on: “Accurately calculating thermal performance in timber-framed medium density housing in New Zealand: Testing thermal calculation methods”.
Immigration New Zealand (MBIE):
  • Converting technical visa content into plain English content for the new Immigration New Zealand website.
Business.govt.nz (MBIE):
  • Converting technical material from multiple government agencies into easy to read summaries for a new Compliance Matters tool. 
Maritime NZ:
  • Analysing and re-writing a Maritime NZ incident response plan – Logistics into plain English. This plan is used by incident responders. 
Standards New Zealand:
  • Promoting the benefits of NZ and international standards in plain English, including content for the 
  • Touchstone website, feature articles, case studies and social media/LinkedIN updates.
